New Year Comes with an Exciting New Programme

Wishing everyone a belated New Year!

I hope everyone had a really lovely time celebrating the opening of 2020.

What a great year to start: 2020 is the Year of the Nurse and Midwife. For those who's not aware, Nurses and Midwives make up the largest numbers of the NHS workforce and 2020 is Florence Nightingale's bicentennial year. What better way to celebrate than having the first ever global Year of the Nurse and Midwife, designed and promoted by World Health Organisation.

At the National Student Nurse Congress head quarters, lots has been happening. In the last few months we've been emailing and approaching lots of people to bring together a fantastic day for you all. We are just finallising the programme for the event and soon this will be published so watch this space.

For the mean time, we are pleased to announced that out Keynote Speakers has been confirmed:

Professor Mark Radford - Chief Nurse at Health Education England and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer (England)
Professor Jane Cummings - Chair of RCN Foundation
David Atherton - International Health Adviser for VSOf and Great British Bake-Off Winner 2019

We've had a good number of nominations for the National Student Nurse Congress Award, keep them rolling in, we are very excited to start shortlisting. Deadline for submission is 31st January 2020.

Registration will be live from the end of January, we will keep everyone posted!
