St George's Hospital is a teaching hospital in Tooting, London. Founded in 1733, it is one of the UK's largest teaching hospitals. It is run by the St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It shares its main hospital site in Tooting in the London Borough of Wandsworth, with the St George's, University of London, which trains NHS staff and carroes out advances medical research.


Getting to London

London is well served by trains to and from all parts of Britain. Most of the London stations has good London Underground (Tube) connections and are all served by buses and taxis.

Getting to St George's Hospital

The nearest underground (tube) station to St George's Hospital is 'Tooting Broadway', which is on the Northern Line. Once you leave the platform, go up the escalators and out the station, it's a 10 minutes work to the hospital.

Once you leave the tube station turn to your immediate left and walk past the bus stop on your right and Sainsbury's to your left on Tooting High Street. On your right there's a refuge island for road crossing. Cross over and head left. Eventually you'll reach Jaffna House Restaurant, A Sri Lankan and South Indian restaurant, turn right onto Coverton Road, then first left onto Effort Street and the hospital will be on your right.

Parking 

If you're travelling by car, unfortunately there is no free parking on the hospital site. There is metered parking within the hospital ground and its paid by the hour, and also on roads around the hospital. It is advised to download the 'RingGo' App to pay via your mobile phone or, you could download the 'Your Parking Space' App to find cheaper parking spaces near the hospital.
