Save the Date!

 Save the Date!

Friday 28th April 2023 at
St George's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

I am excited to inform you that the National Student Nurse Congress is up and running again! Following almost 3 years of the Covid-19 Pandemic, restrictions and lock down, we are now reverting back to our 'usual life' and it's such a great feeling to share this exciting news.

The last National Student Nurse Congress was held in 2019 and it was a well received event attended by over 250 delegates, most of which were student nurses from within London, but also from as far away as Scotland. The day was framed with two keynote speakers: Jane Cummings, CNO of England and Janet Davies, Chief Executive of RCN, along with a stellar line-up of inspirational speakers including Dr Peter Carter, Professor Tony Butterworth, Professor Oliver Shanely - CNO of London. The day was led and supported by a number of student nurses and newly qualified nurses to present at the congress. We also held our very first Award Ceremony celebrating student nurses who has gone above and beyond their role.

This year it will be no different. We are in the process of inviting keynotes speakers and designing discussion and interactive workshops. We will be hosting the National Student Nurse Congress Award again celebrating both Student Nurses and Associate Nursing Students. All Nursing Schools within the UK will be invited to join us in the next few weeks so keep an eye/ear on the news. Eventbrite will be open for registration near February time.

It would be great to hear your thoughts and ideas on what topics you'd be interested to learn from on the day. This is an event made for you students and I've always enjoyed collaborating with students to ensure the day is tailored for your needs. Please drop me an email on studentnurse.congress@stgeorges.nhs.uk or click on the 'Questionnaire' Tab at the top and complete the questionnaire

Do watch this space as I'm hoping to update this as regularly as I could!
